New Signing Interview: Lucas Wilson

And here is another debutant for the club! His first match was against Shirebrook Town just this last week, but even at 16 year old his potential is obvious. I had a chat with Lucas to find out a little bit more about him…

How long have you been playing football?

“Around 10 years, since I can remember really.”

What teams have you played for in the past?

“Heworth, Easingwold town, York and District, North Yorkshire county side, and Osbaldwick F.C.”

What is your favourite position to play?

“Central attacking midfield, but I don’t mind any attacking position.”

What is your favourite moment in football so far?

“Scoring 2 goals for North Yorkshire against Durham to go through to the Northern counties semi final, however my recent debut for Selby Town was a moment I won’t forget.”

Do you support a team?

“Yes, I am a life long Liverpool fan.” (Good man!)

What made you want to sign for Selby Town?

“I knew Christian Fox to be a good manager to give young players a chance to advance ,and also because they play attacking football which I enjoy.”

Anything else about yourself that will help supporters learn a bit more about you?

“I am 16 years old, from York, and study at Huntington school. I play Fifa and Fortnite on Xbox, and love to watch Soccer am when I don’t have football on Saturdays. I’d like to progress my football career as far as I can in the future, but I am also hoping to go further with my education and move onto university to give an alternative pathway.”

Thanks Lucas!
