Introducing Alex Robinson…
Selby Town have recently welcomed Pickering Town’s young star Alex Robinson to the team. I had a chat with Alex to find out a little bit more about him and what he hopes to come from his time at the club.
So tell me a bit about your footballing career so far.
I’ve been playing football since the age of 7. I started at Wigginton Grasshoppers (a fantastic community driven club in the York League with a focus on developing talent for the future) and played with them until 11. After that I moved to Huddersfield Town for the next four years. After being released, I moved on to Pickering Town to play for the under 19s side, and made my first team debut that same year. From there it was on to Selby!
What is your favourite moment so far from your time playing football?
My best memory so far from my time in football, was at Pickering Town when we beat Scarborough Athletic in the semi final of the North Riding County FA Senior Cup with just ten men. The final was then played at Middlesbrough FC’s Riverside Stadium.
What are you excited for now that you’re at Selby Town, and how do you see your career progressing in the future?
I know a lot of the lads at Selby already, and the club has a lot going for it this year such as possible promotion in the league, and also the cup final coming up. At the moment I just want to play games and see where it takes me!
Anything else you wish to tell us about yourself?
I’m from York, working as an electrician, and support Leeds United.
And finally the most the most important question…FIFA, PES, or Football Manager?
FIFA all day long!
Alex prefers to play at left back or left wing and I’m sure you will all agree that he should be a great addition to the squad.
Good luck Alex!
